I was born to tend a bar!

… well, properly not. But I had my bar tending virginity taken yesterday afternoon. It’s not that I haven’t poured a beer behind a bar before but I have never been behind a “real” bar with a cash register, dishwasher etc.
I was part of the volunteer staff at Studenterhuset. It was a very slow afternoon, mostly tourists asking for coffee and it was clear that the semester hasn’t started yet. But it was a great opportunity for me to familiarize myself with the cappuccino machine, cash register etc. without to many thirsty students breathing down my neck. But I properly wont quit my day job just yet.

Speaking of my day job, I have now taught for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) and I’m still alive! The students seem nice so far and I have been able to fill the schedule with meaning full content so far. (At least I thing so…) I was very tired after the first day and I do have a lot of preparation for each lesson, but hopefully as I get the hang of it and get into a routine I will be able to get by using less time to prepare each lesson.

Springtime!

For the first time this year I went running outside today. I ran with two friends from their dorm. I’m not sure how long we ran, but it was a good start of the season and I’m sure I will have sore legs tomorrow. The weather was great for running – maybe a bit cold right when we started, but as we started running the cold stopped being a problem.

So I guess that means that spring is finally here – and I like it!

By the way, when did it start being all right for cars to not use their turn signals when turning, pulling over and stuff like that?!? It does make life as a bike cyclist a lot more… intense!

Jagtvej… ?

De gadeskilte jeg kan se ud af mit vindue er alle blevet skiftet ud med skilte hvor der står Jagtvej på. Meget sødt faktisk. Jeg har desværre ikke noget ordentligt digital kamera, men det kan være jeg laver en lille videofilm og ligger op her eller på youtube.

Men jeg kan godt lide ideen om at vi i øjeblikket alle i en eller anden forstand bor på Jagtvej.

Where did this snow come from?

So, we just finished an October that has been the warmest in many years, hit November first, and then, Bam! Snow. And not the big fluffy snowflakes, that land ever so soft and gently, making a white blanket everywhere. Nope, the kind that are almost rain, but just to add pain and cold have chosen to turn a bit white and frozen and turn to water when they hit the ground. The kind that, with the strong wind we are also having today, combine to just bring pain and cold to anyone foolish enough to venture outside.

So, naturally, today was the day I choose to bring my MC to the shop for 12,000 km check-up and storage for the winter. The trip there was not so bad, although cold. Walking back was the really cold and nasty part. But I finally got home. So now I have 4 months without my MC. Not that I’m going to miss it over the winter. MC riding is really more of a spring/summer kind of thing – at least with danish weather.

Now I think I’ll grep some lunch, read a bit (exam coming up Friday…), and then I actually have to get outside again later. I have to go donate blood at the hospital at four o’clock. If it wasn’t for the weather I might actually look forward to that, but now it’s just something that has be done with.

I’m starting to feel a lot like chri… No I’m not. I have gotten my first christmas present!

Ok, I’m not at all into the christmas feel yet (nor do I think I will get into it this year). I have a sore throat and a cold, my head hurts, and I’m not getting as much work done on my project as I would like.

But I did get my first christmas present yesterday! And right there, for a short moment, when I saw the box of 24 beers (and the other box of 24 sodas), I thought to my self “maby this season is not as shitty as you might think”.
