I attended my first lecture and exercise class for my Algebra 3 course yesterday.
So far it has only been group theory, and mostly stuff covered in other courses, but there was no harm done in refreshing some of the topics.
The start of the first block of the school year of course also marks the end of my summer vacation… like it or not.
Home sweet home
Finally got home today after two weeks vacation with my father. Hopefully I will get some time to write a little bit more and post a few pictures from the trip at some later point in time, but for now my Friday evening/night is booked up by a date with the laundry machine.
Bastogne
My father and I have made our way to Bastogne now. We have been through Utrecht (where the below picture is taken), Rotterdam, De Haan and Bruxelles.
I understand that sometimes when tourists come to Copenhagen and see the Little Mermaid they are dissapointet when they see how small she is. After seeing the Manneken Pis in Bruxells I now somehow know how they feel.
I morgen?!?
Min far ringede tidligere i dag.
I just got home from a demonstration for a cease-fire in Lebanon and an end to occupation. I would have brought a camera, but forgot, so for now, no pictures from the event.
There were a number of speakers from a broad spectrum of parties and organizations.
As a ‘surprise treat’ David Rovics did one and a half number, before one of his guitar strings broke. I have, to my regret, never seen him live before today, but wanted to go a few of the times he has been playing in Denmark / Copenhagen. So it was kind of cool seeing him, although just for a short time.
Another weekend
I have just gotten in the door after spending a few hours at Østre Anlæg, where I was attending Stella Polaris . Rasmus and I had planned to go to the beach, but instead we ended up at Østre Anlæg. Was quite nice just relaxing in the sunshine with chill-out music playing.
The rest of my weekend has been used for consuming quite a lot of alcohol. Most of my Saturday was wasted just laying on the couch with a hangover. I did however do some things that I have been postponing for way to long.
I finally signed up for Erimitageløbet, and I finally put up the two last lamps in the living room.
Before going out for a few beers Saturday night we watched Superman Returns at Imperial. I wasn’t really impressed, but it was more or less what I had expected. Kevin Spacey did a great Lex Luthor, but what surprised me the most was that Louis Lane and Superman had a child together. According to my biology classes that means that they have in fact had sex at some point… or as Thomas pointed out after the movie, maybe Clark Kent had dragged a very drunk Louis Lane into the copy-room during a company party at the Daily Planet. But I guess that is an aspect of their relationship that will never make it to the big screen. Maybe for the best.
If all goes well I should be going running with Rasmus in one hour or so, when it gets cold enough, and I guess that ends a though but fun weekend.
Weee, rush hour
I went to visit my grandmother today, and after visiting her drove north to visit my father. On the freeway I ran into the rush hour – how people can go through that every day is beyon me.
My father and I planed out roughly where we are going on our trip, booked a few hotels and figured out a bit about the packing. I’m actually starting to realise that we are leaving soon… I think it will be great fun!
On the way home I drow down Strandvejen just taking it slow and watching the scenery.
Tuesday Thomas and I went to Havnebadet, and even though the weatherpeople had promised rainshowers and we did feel a few drips as we biked through Nørrebro, the weather was great when we got there. All sunshine from a clear sky! So we got a bit of sun and a few swimming strokes.
Hello Freenet
If you don’t know what freenet is, this post won’t make much sense to you. If you do know, chances are that you are reading this post from freenet.
I have been using freenet for a long time, but haven’t really inserted content before. Some of you may ‘know’ me as sbc in the #freenet irc channel on freenode.
Even though it might not be original content I have chosen to mirror my blog to freenet, as it seems content is the only real thing non-coders can help out with. I’m still trying to figure out if I should use wget instead of httrack, so there might be a few more tweaks coming up. For inserting I’m using PyFCP. I still don’t quite grasp the whole key thing fully yet. Hopefully I will soon. You should be able to reach my blog on freenet at
