Se could not even recognise me – at first

I went to visit my grandmother today. I must admit that I don’t visit her to often – but today when I showed up she could not recognise me. However, after a little while she did, and we could talk for a while. Unfortunately my grandmothers hearing is getting very bad, so I had to talk very loud, and I don’t think she understood all the details of what I told her – but she did understand that I have gotten a job since we last talked and that I’m soon going to Japan.

Talking of Japan, I have finally exchanged some money (so I’m now carrying around several thousands of yen – I feel so wealthy with all those zeroes printed on the notes). I have also added a small app at the top of my pc screen showing what the weather is like in Tokyo – 21 degree Celsius is what it tells me right now. A little bit better than the 12 degrees here.

I have gotten a job!

I have gotten a job! It is a one year substitute position at Stenløse Gymnasium og HF. I will be teaching one class of math, one of physics and one of science (naturvidenskabeligt grundforløb).
I see this as a great chance for me to figure out if teaching is really what I want to spend my life doing.
I went to the gymnasium today to pick up the books I am supposed to teach from. So hopefully I will have some time to look through them over the summer.

I plan on leaving for Roskilde tomorrow. The weather is not quite what I had hoped, but I guess it is not a real Roskilde Festival if there is no mud. And it can still clear up for when the music starts Thursday!

All the cool kids are doing it…!

I just got home a few hours ago… I’m still dizzy, drunk (or both) from my fathers party last night.
I might at a later point come back to writing a little more about that, but right now I will blog about something else.

For some time I have been looking for a way to host some pictures. Both for this blog, but also just in general. I used to run my own gallery server, but that machine is turned off for the moment, I can’t run a gallery server at my current host… long story short, I have signed up at flickr and I must say I am impressed! I haven’t uploaded very many pictures yet (but hopefully will in time), but the features seem really cool, and most importantly, I now have a place to share pictures with the rest of the world.

My flickr profile is linked here (I think). Feel free to look around.

Made it, just in time…

For a few moments there, I thought I might be running just a tad bit late. My father is having his birthday celebration today, and I must admit I only just finished his present. I still need to take a shower, find some festive clothes and catch the train. But that should be possible to do – I do have about two hours before the train leaves.

So tonight is going to be spend with the family and my fathers friends. Hopefully it is going to be a fun evening for all. Time will tell I guess.

Pictures from Holland

I really should get myself a new digital camera. The one I have needs to have its batteries changed more often than a baby needs to have diapers changed, and the picture quality leaves (considering what cameras are available currently) much to be desired.

Anyway, I have put up a few pictures from the trip me and my father was on this summer. Only pictures from Holland, no decent ones were taken on the rest of the trip unfortunately. Click the picture to see the rest of them.

(I also need to figure out how to best post pictures directly to this blog, but for now I won’t use WordPress to handle the pictures directly)
